The 2016 motorsports season at the venerable Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course gets under way early as tickets for all events and reservations for classes with The Mid-Ohio School open open today with significant discounted prices available between now and the New Year. After five years of idling, the short track is ready to be put into gear. Spitzer Motor Speedway, formerly Mansfield Motorsports Park, will host its first racing event since July 2010 when it reopens Sunday afternoon. Gates open at noon Sunday, with hot laps at 1 p.m., qualifying at 3 p.m. and racing at 4:30 p.m. Fans will be treated to some of the fastest short track cars on the planet when the Midwest Supermodified Association headlines the card with a 30-lap feature. Modified vehicles and front-wheel drive cars will offer support races.
Single-day tickets for the 2015 race season at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course are now available. The historic track will kick-off its 54th year of racing with the Mid-Ohio Vintage Grand Prix, taking place June 25-28. Single-day tickets start at $20. Mid-Ohioâ€™s driving school, The Mid-Ohio School, also released its 2015 course schedule.
Tickets for the 2015 race season at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, one of North America's most competitive race tracks, will go on sale February 2 at 10 a.m. ET. Four spectator events highlight the historic track's 2015 season schedule, with marquee events The Honda Indy 200 returning July 31-August 2 and the Nationwide Children's Hospital 200 returning August 14-15. Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will also host Ohio's 2015 Tough Mudder challenge on May 9 and 10.

The IndyCar Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series are set for next season, returning to similar spots on the calendar.The Honda Indy 200 will be Sunday, Aug. 3, while the NASCAR Nationwide Childrenâ€™s Hospital 200 will be Saturday, Aug. 16
The Honda Indy 200 was given five more laps, going an even 90 for a race slated to start at 3:40 p.m. for a national television audience watching on NBC Sports Network. The Firestone Indy Lights return to Mid-Ohio for the first time since 2010, and it will hold a 40-lap race Sunday that will also be aired by the network. The Pro Mazda Championship will hold two races over the weekend, the USF2000 National Championship will race three times, and the Pirelli World Challenge Championships will put on four races, two races each for its GT and Touring classes.
North central Ohio better gear up because business is about to pick up. After this weekend, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will have its two biggest events of the season over the following three weeks.
