Viola Newton, Senior Lecturer, African American and African Studies at The Ohio State University is the featured speaker for this lecture "on how the way people speak can help them, or be (a blessing) or work against them giving them a ('bo' stick licking)." She explores the impact of Black Caribbean vernacular on speakers' lives. Samples of Caribbean food will be served.
