Mohican Wildlife Weekend - Mohican State Park, Perrysville, OH

Five program sites, over 30 programs, barbeque and barn dance. Kick off the weekend at the Ohio Bird Sanctuary Friday at 6 PM. Meet wildlife ambassadors from participating program sites and receive the latest programming information. Activities include an afternoon walk in the past at Mohican Outdoor School, enjoying living history from the time period of 1812. Meet candle makers, weavers, traders, a school marm, a town crier and an Indian. Old time music and family fun. Kids can learn about "good bugs - bad bugs" and be able to plant a seed or seedling to take home. End the day with a chicken barbeque at Mohican Outdoor School's Groveport Lodge. Take a night hike to call for owls. Bring the family and enjoy many opportunities to make nature crafts at Malabar Farm and Ohio Bird Sanctuary. Visit Gorman Nature Center to learn about and handle amphibians, reptiles and small mammals. See songbirds up close during the Bird Banding demonstration and experience pond exploration.
