Spend the day down on the Farm enjoying the activities of the 2013 Farm Fun Day Festival at Malabar Farm State Park, located in Richland County. The festival will begin at 10 a.m. and run through 6 p.m. This year’s festival will feature children’s games, a cornhole tournament, children’s fishing derby, “Picnic in the Park” fundraiser, and a barn dance.

The farm themed children’s games offer kids ages 4-12 a chance to test their skill and to have some fun. Children’s games will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Immediately following the games, there will be a fishing derby around the Big House pond from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Please bring your own pole; bait will be provided.

The Lucas Lions Club is sponsoring a cornhole tournament from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Registration is at 10 a.m. and the tournament will begin at 11 a.m. The cost is $30 per team, with a double elimination. There will be prize money awarded for the top four places.

Beginning at 4 p.m. is “Picnic in the Park” Fundraiser. This will be held in the Main Barn and will feature a preview of the upcoming “Black Cyclone” play, a silent auction, and live music and a BBQ dinner. Registration will begin at 3:30 p.m. There is a suggested $20 donation with all proceeds promoting preservation of Malabar Farm.

The evening will conclude with the Summer Barn Dance, sponsored by Farm Credit Mid America. The dance, held in the Main Barn, will run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Dancers of all skill levels are welcome.

In addition to the added events, there will also be the regularly scheduled house and wagon tours. House tours are at 12 p.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. Wagon tours are at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
