"The Ghost of Ceely Rose" Drama
Friday, October 2, 2015
Presented By: Malabar Farm Foundation
Event Dates & Times:
October 2, 3, 9, 10 at 7 pm
In the year of 1896, a crime would stir a whirlwind of fears in the small little community known as Pleasant Valley in southern Richland County. Join us for a fresh, dramatic exploration of the true Ceely Rose story on the site where it actually happened. The drama is presented in a multi media format that includes music, storytelling, historic photos, and acting in a Chautauqua style performance. The evening will be capped off by stories of Ceely ghost sightings.
There will be a optional dinner served at 6:00pm and can be enjoyed at picnic tables nearby or in the barn at tables. (BBQ Chicken and Ribs, Au Gratin Potatoes, Green Beans, Cole Slaw, Roll/Butter, Drink)
*This is an "outdoor" event that takes place in a barn subject to outside temperatures. Please dress appropriately for the weather or bring a blanket. Those with sensitive allergies should be advised that the performances are in a working barn (animals/hay) in the basement.
*Most nights will sell out. Any leftover tickets will sell at the door. We recommend buying tickets in advance.
*The show dramatizes historical events which took place on site over 119 years ago. This includes murders committed by a mentally disturbed individual. Parents are advised that this material may not be appropriate for children.
* This is staged on a farm in the country. Guests may want to bring a flashlight for the return walk to the parking lot.
* All profits from this event will go to support Malabar Farm through the all volunteer, non profit Malabar Farm Foundation. Currently among many other projects, the Foundation is committed to restoration of the historic artifacts in the Big House.
Prices- $20.00 per ticket
