My son, E.J. Peiker, nature photographer (ejphoto.com) and electronic engineer at Intel Corporation in Chandler, AZ, visited his former home, Mansfield, OH, from October 17 to 21, 2008. "Great to be back for a few days," was his comment.

An excellent Autumn view of the Clear Fork Gorge at Mohican. This area is a white pine-hemlock forest. Mohican is just as beautiful as the Hocking Hills with the waterfalls, rock outcrops, and vistas.

We made the trip from Delaware, OH to visit Mohican and Malabar Farm. After leaving Mohican to head to Malabar Farm we stopped at Mt. Jeez to take in the views. Our daughters were fascinated views and became more excited when a group of cowboys came up and rode directly in front of us. I asked if it was okay to take their photograph and they said "Sure, not a problem". Notice that they are even partaking in the awesome view atop Mt. Jeez. Notice that they are enjoying the view and pointing out points-of-interest to the onlookers.

Kingwood Center has been a favorite place to take special occassion photographs for a long time. In April this year (08) I took my daughter there to take pictures of her before prom. Stunning backdrops are available there from Spring to Fall.

We come to Mansfield a couple of times every year, and the carousel is our girls\' favorite place to go. It would be a sad trip indeed without a trip downtown to the shiny, fun carousel. Pictured is our oldest, Rachel, 4 years old.

The best venue in North Central Ohio is the Renaissance Theatre. This beautiful theatre has something for everyone. The upcoming summer musical is Into the Woods, written by James Lapine who grew up in Mansfield.

Every year the ISMAS and 410 sprints return in August to Mansfield's track. My family and friends count down the days to their return each year. The weekly racing series is greatly missed but we are grateful for the schedule MMS has retained.

my mom is 89 yrs. old. she loves carosels, she has 85 of them. she wanted to ride a carosel so much. she cannot climb ,the base is too high. imagine her suprise to find out they have a ramp. she was so happy, she got to ride. thank you so much. it was so worth coming all that way. she also wanted a fried bologna sandwich , so we went to coney island, too. of course, our first stop was at the living bible to see the \"life of christ\". thank you for making her day. the only bad part was we forgot our camera.

Mansfield is one of the hidden treasures of Ohio. With having the Kingwood Center, Ohio State Reformatory and all the amazing old architecture, it's a photographers dream. The image to the left is that of the old oak tree seen at the end of Shawshank Redemption, which was filmed in Mansfield.

I attended the Grand Am race at Mid-Ohio last weekend (21-22 June 2008) and had a great time, even though the weather wasn't the best. I enjoy the races at Mid-Ohio but the surrounding area is also a great place to visit.

I had a friend who had never visited Kingwood Center, So I took her on a tour this past month and she loved it. While we were there my one year enjoyed himself running all over. Being from Mansfield, Kingwood Center has always been a place I've talked about, and would most recommend to anyone as a must see. You can enjoy Kindwood all year around.

A group of us went to Mansfield Motorsports Park and took part in their Badfast program where we got to ride along with one of the professional drivers. It was a RUSH cruising around the track at more than 100 MPH in a 400-horsepower, Nascar-style Chevy Monte Carlo! (Just look at all of our smiles!) We highly recommend it for groups, birthdays, etc. Our driver, Dan Mager, was fantastic.
