Glitter and Garland Christmas Tour

November-December 2009
Day 1
Tour the Miracles of the Old Testament at BibleWalk. This tour is presented as a reminder of God’s great works and includes life sized wax figures and special effects. All figures are re-created scenes from the Bible. As an added bonus, Biblewalk offers at no charge a collection of rare Bibles, unique folkart, woodcarvings and an outstanding gift shop. One of Mansfield’s top attractions!  $

Step into the past at Olivesburg General Store.  Rich in history, this store still serves the local community and 250 Amish families' needs.  Wonderful holiday gifts, old tools, antiques, pottery, hardware, crafts, delicious deli Amish cheeses and meats.  Enjoy yummy, hand-dipped ice cream from the original marble ice-cream counter.

Ride Mansfield's first wooden carousel at the Richland Carrousel Park in the Historic Carrousel District.  The carousel figures were carved in the style of G.A. Dentzel, one of the most revered carvers of the early 1900's.  All 52 figures were designed, carved and painted in Mansfield, Ohio.  You can even try your hand at it!  This year 'round attraction will bring back memories or create new ones!  $

Your delectable lunch buffet will be waiting for you at Ed Pickens’ Café on Main in the historical Reed’s building in the heart of the Central Park District overlooking the lovely square in downtown Mansfield.

Beautifully decorated in a Victorian Dickens Theme for the holidays. Louis Bromfield, Pulitzer Prize winning author, wrote about Oak Hill (Shane’s Castle) in his 1924 novel “The Green Bay Tree.”   $

Visit Ohio's most talked about places for the holidays- Possum Run Greenhouse.  Located at Ohio's coldest spot, Possum Run Road, this year 'round garden center and gift shop has been serving the world for over 30 years.  Visitors enjoy an amazing relaxing environment inside the greenhouse.  Look down upon the room from the rainbow bridge while soaking in the sounds of the enormous waterfall.  Visit the restored century barn and large selection of collectibles and home decor.  Stroll the state of the art Dutch greenhouse for seasonal plants.  The seasonal selection and quality will impress even the most avid gardener.  Free tour.

Watching over Pleasant Valley for over 180 years, the Malabar Farm Restaurant serves up more than history.  Featuring all natural farm products from their own farm market, fresh produce and tradtional meals served to your group.  The restaurant serves their meals with a Parisian influence fare in an upscale yet comfortable setting. $
